Algaravian Chimneys is a series of ten two-colour relief prints. This work was commissioned by the Associação Questão Repetida in the Algarve, southern Portugal. Chimneys have long been an emblematic element of the region, and the association sought to recover, highlight, and reaffirm their value in the present day, in response to the deterioration they are suffering due to a lack of conservation and interest in their preservation. The project aims to raise awareness of the importance of preserving local heritage. I worked with traditional regional chimneys, drawing on typical models from the area, reinterpreting some of them and placing them in different contexts connected to the culture of Algarave.
